Free Climate Action Now yard signs and stickers give voice to Eden-Monaro locals
Community group Save the Forests is working with the Nature Conservation Council to provide free Climate Action Now posters and bin stickers to residents in the federal electorate of Eden-Monaro who want to nudge local politicians to do more to cut carbon emissions and boost clean energy.
“Recent floods and the Black Summer bushfires show cutting climate pollution and switching to clean energy are more urgent than ever,” South East Region Conservation Alliance (SERCA) spokesperson Harriet Swift said.
“The majority of people inn Eden-Monaro want politicians to do much more about the climate crisis, but they are not sure how to get their message through.
“These Climate Action Now yard signs and bin stickers are a very practical way people can have their voices heard.”

Nature Conservation Council South Coast Community Organiser Wilson Harris said polling showed most people in the federal electorate of Eden-Monaro wanted action on climate but felt there was a lack of political leadership.
“A recent YouGov survey [1] found 67% of people in the seat of Eden-Monaro believe the benefits they will receive from greater action on climate change outweigh any costs involved,” Mr Harris said.
“It also found 64% of people thought greater action on climate change by the federal government would be good for their health.
“And about 68% of people believe greater action on climate change will strengthen the Australian economy.
“Political leaders have been twiddling their thumbs rather than pushing the changes we urgently need. They are clearly not getting the message.
“The aim of the Climate Action Now yard-sign and bin-sticker campaign is to ensure that candidates in the coming federal election can’t avoid getting the message as they drive around the electorate.
“We’re not telling people who they should vote for, we are just giving them a way to have their voice heard.”
